Solar Roof Construction is Underway!

Friends of Mimosa Hall and Gardens is excited to announce that on March 17th the construction phase of the integrated solar roof project began. “We are excited to take this next step in our journey of making Mimosa Hall the Oldest Net Zero Home in America,” said Mike Harris, President of the Friends of Mimosa board. “We could not have made this happen without the continuous support from Cadmus Construction, Georgia-Pacific, sonnen, Inc., the Phoenix Circle Members, the members and Board of Friends of Mimosa Hall and Gardens, MiaSolé, SunEarth, and the City of Roswell.”

Cadmus Construction is heading up this leading-edge project, and is slated to remove the original damaged roof, and prepare it for the new solar panel installation. As part of the initiative for reducing waste, the Friends of Mimosa team will recycle and repurpose as much of the material as possible. Since the construction site is hazardous and still closed to visitors, updates will be posted concerning the progress of the project and as to when the property grounds will be open to the public.
