Murder at Mimosa!
There seemed something sinister about the place.
Did you know that Mimosa Hall was the inspiration for a best-selling murder mystery novel? Join us as we host a virtual celebration of Who Killed Aunt Maggie, a mystery written in 1939 by Medora Field Perkerson. Inspired by the success of Gone with the Wind, written by her good friend and Atlanta Journal colleague, Margaret Mitchell, Perkerson decided to write her own novel about a murder occurring in beautiful old "Wisteria Hall." Who Killed Aunt Maggie was so popular that Hollywood made it into a movie the following year! Our celebration will include readings from the novel and clips from the 1940 movie, plus an introduction from Dr. Harwood about how Perkerson chose Mimosa Hall as the backdrop for her novel.
