Classical Music Series at Mimosa Hall Presents: : THE LITTLE MATCH GIRL PASSION

  • Mimosa Hall and Gardens 127 Bulloch Ave Roswell United States (map)

The Little Match Girl Passion is a stunning musical work of art that won the Pulitzer Prize in 2008. It is a literary fairy tale by Danish poet and author Hans Christian Andersen set to music by David Lang for 4 singers and percussion. The story, about a dying child's dreams and hope, was first published in 1845 (right around the same time the Mimosa Hall was built).

We have assembled an extraordinary cast of vocalists and musicians for The Little Match Girl Passion. An original film by Shane Meador of Asheville, NC will accompany the music of this astonishing piece. The work will be Act 1 of our concert. Act 2 will feature our talented performers in sensational arrangements of beloved Christmas tunes from a multitude of genres that will bring down the house!

For this concert, The Roswell Music Club is partnering with The Zadie Project. The Zadie Project' is outstanding and works to combat food insecurity for families and seniors in Atlanta.

Each ticket will be $60. This pricing will allow us to benefit an outstanding non profit The Zadie Project as well as compensate the additional artists for this one musical event.

Thank you for supporting this concert series and the Zadie Project who provides much needed food to those who do not enjoy our own bountiful blessings during the holiday season.
