Balalaika Fantasie features World Renowned Balalaika ( domra-slavic mandolin) player Angelina Reed and director David Cooper, graduate of Kyiv Conservatory and a master ethnomusicologist. They draw their inspiration from their life-long passion for Ukrainian/Slavic folk music and their diverse cultural backgrounds. Performing on authentic folk instruments, the group’s repertoire includes Ukrainian, Russian, Gypsy and Jewish folk music. Their show involves demonstrations, interactions, and a whole lot of clapping and smiling!
